Attending a class or course can be an effective way to develop skills and learn more about gardening. There are many opportunities and possibilities for working in horticulture , as well as different courses to learn more about horticulture and gardening throughout Ireland.

Full-time and part-time courses provide accreditation for working in the horticultural profession.  Some Universities offer degrees and postgraduate qualifications.  Night classes also provide opportunities to brush up on your skills, learn more and meet other gardening enthusiasts.

FAS have a range of classes available as well as providing careers advice

The Cultivate Centre in Dublin run a wide range of courses including gardening

The Organic Centre in Rossinver, Co.Leitrim put on interesting weekend courses and workshops.

The Organic College An tIonad Glas. This is a small college of about 60 students situated in the town of Dromcollogher, Co. Limerick, Ireland. We are dedicated to providing quality courses in organic growing and sustainability.

Sonairte, the National Ecology Centre in Co. Meath  have courses running throughout the year. See Sonairtes website for more information
