Hey everyone,
Currently in the middle of a storm and have quite a few problems with our wheelie bins being blown around and nowhere to put them except for inside the house!!

We don't have anything available outside to store them in and need a solution for outside the house. I have looked for a few bin locks but they only lock the bin itself, it doesn't secure it to anything.

The only near relevant thing I have found is a "Bin Guardian" wheelie bin lock which actually secures it to the wall which I found on amazon.

Does anyone have any experience with any of these if you can recommend them?

Hi Westboy.
Sounds like a bit of a nuisance. Does the area have a wall to one side or is it open? If you send in a picture we could maybe see a solution. (you could email it to info@gardening.ie as the image uploader is acting the maggot) My initial idea would be to weigh the bin down somehow with blocks, but they would disappear every time the bin is emptied! Chains fitted to a wall then tied around the bins could work too.

It'd be a good idea to have a securing lock on the ground fitted to the concrete.

There are other ideas such as the screens that might do the job too...check them out on google, there are loads of different types from bamboo to the plastic leaves http://www.hidbin.ie/

cheers
